I can love & tolerate the new voice… I do not mind her eyes are (less) Derp… or she no longer Derps-up (that much.) I do mind when someone censors another in such a detrimental way.
People need to take a step back to observe and contemplate what they done. Realize that what they did was wrong; changing someone (or somepony in this case) because they are different and do not fit the status quo is debauched and gives mixed signals. We need to change ourselves, not force others to change.
I rather live in my delusional world where every time Rainbow Dash says her censored name I hear: “Derpy”
Keep Derpy, the way we know and love, alive my Bronies.
Well, I like the new voice a little better, but not by much. I think it's a little bit of a nudge in the right direction, but there was something on the old voice that I also liked. Like, they tried making it more girly... which is OK... but something is missing.
arguably* and characters*, "Derpy being arguably one of the most influential characters"*. And, "in my opinion"* at the end. I was really tired when I typed that.
"Well, considering that the show has helped a LOT of people deal with thier issues, and Derpy being arguably one of the most influential characters(in some respects a symbol of the show itself), I think the general reaction over the fandom was quite adequate. Although, that's just my opinion" Is what it should have said.
Sorry, I accidentally my grammar lol. When i'm tired I can't think coherently.
It wasn't the grammar that confused me, it was the content. I'm not sure where you're getting "arguably the most influential characters" from. Previous to her few lines in The Last Roundup, she's just been a background character and animation flub. Anything more than that was purely fanon.
I didn't mean her to be influential in the cannonical sense, no. How do I put this? To a lot of people, i'm not sure you are entirely aware of this, she has became a Symbol to the very fandom, or something just as big. In other words, she is an important character just in the fact that she was invented by us, and not the Creators of the show. She represents a large chunk of the Fandom. To have such a largely loved character Cannonized, then just blotched out, I think the reaction pertaining to the action is equal in that sense, it was to be expected. But this is just my opinion have you mind. If you think it is an over reaction, just be on your merry way and ignore me if you like.
Although, I must say the whole controversy has been fully recognized by Amy Keating Rogers, and she has explained Derpy's situation in the whole. It's on Equestria Daily if you haven't read it and are currious.
